Why You Should Be A Member

The Mountain States Lumber and Building Material Dealers’ Association is an established trade association representing the states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. It is the goal of the Association to represent our members through legislative advocacy, and support our members by providing products and services, including education and training, that will enhance their businesses and help them grow and prosper.

Any firm meeting our guidelines and regularly engaged in the retail lumber and building business, maintaining an adequate and permanent office, storage yard and warehouse kept open during regular business hours, with such handling facilities and sales service as are commensurate with the nature of the business is invited to become a Retail Member of the association. Those companies who manufacture and / or provide materials or services to retail dealers and who meet the guidelines of our Bylaws are also invited to join as Associate Supplier Members.

Our members benefit tremendously through contact with peers and other industry leaders. As a member you will have access to valuable reports, informative surveys and information designed to guide you in managing your business by keeping you in touch with the latest thinking and advances in the industry.

Who Is Working On Your Behalf?

The MSLBMDA Board of Directors, Committee members and professional Staff are working hard to manage the MSLBMDA and build a strong organization in which you will take pride. The affairs of this Association shall be managed by a Board of Directors consisting of no more than fifteen (15) members. Of that number, a maximum of 40% of the Director positions shall be held by an Associate Supplier member, with a minimum of 60% being held by regular Retail Members as defined in Article II of the By-Laws. The Board will consist of representatives from the following that may include the states of: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The one person appointed by the Board of Directors to represent this Association as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association and the immediate past president of this Association shall be members of the Board of Directors.

As a member driven Association, the MSLBMDA team relies on member leadership, effectiveness and the desire to improve and provide our members with quality services and products. The Board of Directors provides the leadership necessary to meet the challenges of an ever-changing industry. To better serve our membership, there are committees chaired by Board Members and other member volunteers. We truly appreciate the time and dedication they give toward establishing and maintaining a stable future for the MSLBMDA.
